Our Approach to Recovery

Whole-person care that meets you where you are — and walks with you the whole way.

Outpatient Programs

Live at home, keep your job, stay close to family. Our outpatient programs combine medical visits, counseling, and telehealth to support recovery without putting your life on hold.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Evidence-based care that combines FDA-approved medications like Suboxone with counseling to ease cravings, manage withdrawal, and give recovery a fighting chance.

Individual Therapy

Real conversations with someone who actually listens. Individual therapy gets to the why beneath the addiction — and helps you build the tools to move forward.

Virtual Appointments

No transportation? No childcare? No problem. Get expert addiction care securely from home — same providers, same compassion, fewer barriers.

Group Therapy

Healing happens in community. Our group sessions, family education, and 12-step support connect you with people who get it — because they're walking the same road.

Whole-Person Care

Addiction touches every part of life — body, mind, and spirit. We treat all of it, blending medical care, counseling, and faith-supported encouragement to help you rebuild a life worth staying sober for.

Care That Comes to You

Life doesn't pause when you need help. That's why we offer secure telehealth appointments — so distance, transportation, work schedules, and childcare can't get in the way of your recovery. Same providers. Same compassion. Just from wherever you are.

Our Mission

Our mission is to assist those struggling with substance use disorder, using positive, supportive care towards recovery and purpose.

Faith-Supported

We support paths to attain psychological and spiritual wellness, while advocating for each person’s unique healing journey.

Specialty

Our main focus is opiate abuse as it seems to be responsible for the majority of deaths associated with substance abuse. However, we treat all addictions such as alcohol abuse, stimulant abuse, etc.

History

Since 2006 we have been operating and improving at a facility in the Greenville, Tennessee Area. We currently have two locations in Tennessee: Bulls Gap and Johnson City. We have one location in Weber City, Virginia. We are continuing to expand as the need is overwhelming.

Patient Stories

We Guide Individuals On Their Journey To Overcoming Addiction, Helping Them Rediscover Their Strength And Purpose In Life.

By far the best place I’ve been to in 10 years.  Emmaus has been a positive change for me. My last doctor was adding additional unnecessary stress. I was treated as if I didn’t matter. Coming here each week, I noticed that pretty much everyone here is nice and caring. I love that it is a non-judgmental place. I feel supported, and I feel that the doctor and staff truly care about my journey. Im not happy I have to go anywhere for treatment. But I am thankful to have found a place where I can be comfortable coming to. I think that more businesses should be run like this one! I was excited to see verses from the bible and things like that also! Where God’s present but it’s not forced on you or a topic of discussion, everything I would want or more I get here and I hope for a now on. Thank you, Emmaus!

Aimee Johnson City

Great people, they try to help. Best doctor I could have got. They will help any way they can. God bless all of them.

Verlin C.

“My husband had tried two other programs. What’s different about Emmaus is that they didn’t give up when he relapsed. They just adjusted the plan. He’s been stable for over a year now.”

Rachel Wife of Emmaus Patient

“If you’re looking for a true ‘home,’ this is where your journey begins. Once you walk through the door, you’ve been warned: you will be loved and cared for. Your voice will be heard. Your feelings are respected. This is where love begins, and addiction ends — so pick up the phone and call.”

How does Suboxone aid in addiction recovery?

Suboxone, a medication made from buprenorphine and naloxone, plays a key role in helping individuals overcome opioid addiction. It reduces cravings and withdrawal symptoms without producing the “high” associated with opioids. This makes it a safe and effective tool during early and ongoing recovery.

At Emmaus Medical & Counseling, we specialize in Suboxone treatment at our Bulls Gap, Johnson City, and Weber City locations. Our approach includes medical support, counseling, and relapse prevention, helping patients regain control of their lives and move forward with confidence.

Whether you’re in northeast Tennessee or southwest Virginia, our Suboxone clinics offer convenient access to expert care — including virtual visits and walk-in availability at select locations.

Can I call Emmaus for a loved one?

Yes. Many of our first calls come from a parent, spouse, or sibling. We'll talk you through your options and help you figure out the next step — even if your loved one isn't on board yet.

Do you offer support for family members?

Yes. We host a free weekly family support group every Thursday at 7 PM EST via Zoom. It's open to anyone who loves someone struggling with addiction — your loved one doesn't have to be in treatment for you to attend. Meeting ID: 973 187 3819, Passcode: 526THF.

You Don't Have to Have It All Figured Out Before You Call.

Most people who reach out to us aren’t sure what to say. That’s okay.

Just call. We’ll listen. We’ll talk through your options. We’ll help you figure out what comes next — whether that’s an appointment for you, treatment for someone you love, or just sitting in on Thursday’s family support group. Confidential. Compassionate. No judgment — ever.
